At the center of the mesmerizing rolling meadows, lived a young shepherd. His existence was mostly pure, simple, and honest. His primary duty was to care for his flock of rams.
Their soft bleating and the murmuring of the gales through the lone tree on the hilltop were his only companions. Day in day, watching over his responsibilities imbued in him a feeling of calm satisfaction.

One day he ran into the village yelling “Wolf! There is a wolf preying on my sheep!” The terrified villagers rushed up the hills to help but discovered no beast.
The boy giggled at the dilemma on their faces. This trick laughed for a few days more. However, one noon, a real wolf actually come to prey the grazing sheep. The shepherd boy raced for help, screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but could protect only few of his sheep. Devastated, he returned to the town only to receive a scolding on honesty and the repercussions of crying wolf.
The tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the significance of honesty, the consequences of lying and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it highlights how trust once violated, is difficult to regain. It's a story as relevant today as it was anciently.
